The Zero Suicide Alliance (ZSA) is a collaboration of National Health Service trusts, charities, businesses and individuals who are all committed to suicide prevention in the UK and beyond. We are an alliance of people and organisations coming together around one basic principle: Suicide is preventable

The alliance is made up of over 1,300 people and organisations (as of April 2020), each of them signed up to the alliance to make a difference, to be part of something bigger and to play a collective part in protecting the people they serve and who they care for and about.

ZSA exist to support and help empower members to achieve their aims, to reduce stigma and tackle those factors, which can lead to suicide.

This self-formed network means that ZSA are able to reach into hundreds of communities and sectors, and hope this website will further enable us to facilitate change in the most helpful ways possible for members.

ZSA  are constantly on the lookout for different ways to support and work with non profit organisations and healthcare providers, in order to make sure that the UK has a strong and comprehensive suicide prevention approach. Although are only a small team ZSA are able to reach into hundreds of communities and sectors through this network.

The ZSA is ultimately concerned with improving support for people contemplating suicide by raising awareness of, and promoting, FREE suicide prevention training which is accessible to all. There are two levels to our training:

Gateway Training that gives those who are interested a taster of how to approach someone who is struggling and takes about 10 minutes.

It can be found here: https://www.relias.co.uk/hubfs/ZSAMicroCourse/story_html5.html

Advanced training that takes around 25 minutes to complete and gives you the skills and awareness to recognise when someone may be contemplating taking their own life.

It can be found here: https://www.relias.co.uk/hubfs/ZSACourse4/story_html5.html

The aims of this training are to: enable people to identify when someone is presenting with suicidal thoughts/behaviour, to be able to speak out in a supportive manner, and to empower them to signpost the individual to the correct services or support.
