New Psychoactive Substance use among vulnerable groups in Scotland: publication of new research findings

The Scottish Government commissioned SDF to carry out research in collaboration with the University of Glasgow on the use of NPS amongst vulnerable groups in June 2015 (with data collected between Dec 2015 and Jun 2016). The research has now been completed and the findings published on the Scottish Government website: http://www.gov.scot/Publications/2016/11/8042.

The report presents the results of mixed methods research on the patterns of use, motives, and harms of NPS use amongst the following groups:

  • vulnerable young people
  • people in contact with mental health services
  • people affected by homelessness
  • people who inject drugs, and
  • men who have sex with men.

Thank you to everyone who helped support the research, and please feel free to get in touch with any questions,
